Bea

Hi! I just wanted to let you know how Bea is doing. :) I have renamed her Zuzu and the name certainly fits her personality. She is so sweet and such a good dog. She has become very playful and yesterday we made a trip to petsmart so she could pick out a new collar and a couple of toys. You will be happy to know that the toy frog she picked has already been destroyed. :) She did have one accident in the house Monday night, but hasn't had any since then. We have been on a few walks and she does so well! I also got her a dog bed that she likes to curl up on and I put it right by my bed so that she can be close to me while she sleeps. I didn't kennel her yesterday while I was at work, but she did very well, no accidents! All in all she is the perfect pet for me! I am so very thankful that I was able to adopt her. Thank you again for everything you do! Janie

Butch

Virginia, Butch is a real sweet dog, very obedient. He does have some small habits that we are working on (getting on furniture, sleeping in his kennel at night and riding nice in the car). But he does seem to know Sit, Lay Down, Get Down and Shake and hasn’t made a mess in the house nor has he chewed anything up, including toys and bones we have given him. My husband has been handling everything and Butch has started to bond with him. In fact, he shadows Ken all around. I was really concerned about how much he barks but he really doesn’t. Only when there is a lot of stimulation around. Yes he does make a mess when he eats and drinks but that is nothing to us. The vet thinks he might have allergies and has given us some advice on what to do to help alleviate the problem. How long had he been up for adoption? We were trying to figure out why he hadn’t been adopted yet? We feel very lucky to be able to have him part of our family. Thank you. Linda Sonnenmoser, CPA

Bowie

HI VIRGINIA, I GOT YOUR VM AND JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU HE IS STILL DOING GREAT! STARTED EATING HIS DRY FOOD WITHOUT MIXING IT ON HIS OWN TODAY AND TONIGHT WE WENT FOR A WALK AROUND THE BLOCK. HIS BACK LEFT HAUNCH WAS FAVORING A LITTLE WHEN WE GOT BACK SO I GAVE HIM AN ASPIRIN. OTHER THAN THAT HE SEEMS TO BE ADJUSTING JUST FINE...HE IS PLAYING WITH TOYS AND IS ALWAYS IN THE DOORWAY OF WHATEVER ROOM I'M IN, LIKE HE'S GUARDING IT...HE HARDLY EVER BARKS OR GROWLS UNLESS HE SEES ANOTHER DOG COMING BY HIS YARD AND HAS WARMED UP TO EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY. HE MET MY DADS GERMAN SHORTHAIR-HANNAH LASTNIGHT, WHO HAS NO IDEA THAT SHE IS A DOG...SHE JUST THINKS SHE IS A "HANNAH" AND THEY PLAYED LIKE PUPS WHILE WE WERE THERE. HE'S SUCH A GREAT DOG...BREAKS MY HEART TO THINK HIS OLD OWNER DIDNT TREAT HIM WELL? WELL, THAT'S ABOUT IT..I WILL GET SOME PICS TAKEN FOR YOU AND SEND YOUR WAY SOON. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP....YOU DID A REALLY GOOD THING WITH HIM!

Black Jack
Black Jack

He is doing wonderful. I will work on getting you pics of him. He has a great home and is happy.

Buddy

Buddy is doing great in his new home! We absolutely adore him! He has formed a very tight bond with his big sister, Molly (a Jack Russell Terrier) and the other neighborhood dogs. Buddy is our first rescue, but will not be our last, this has been a very rewarding process and we look forward to giving more dogs a permanent home in the future! I have attached a picture of Buddy in our backyard taken earlier this summer.
