Animal Success Stories
Chip
Michelle & Sherrie,
Thought you'd enjoy seeing how Chip has settled in.
I wanted to let you know he did test positive for whip worm. He's been treated and he very well may have picked it up at our house or the park, but I wanted to mention it just in case Charlie is also affected.
Chip is walking to the park every weekday afternoon to get Alex from school, and he's very popular there! He is just awesome with all the kids. He mows through every kind of natural or edible chew I've tried, but he turns his nose up at the synthetic stuff, so we're still trying to find something that will last longer!
He now takes himself to the kennel at bedtime and waits there for his Greenie. :) He was also included in a family slumber party in Mom and Dad's bed this past Saturday night and spent the first hour between my feet under the covers. We weren't sure there was adequate air supply for him to be under there all night, so we coaxed him out and he curled up on a fleece blanket by my legs. I don't think he even flinched until morning. I'm going to get him a snuggly fleece blanket of his own because he seems to love them! So far he's only had that one night outside his kennel, but he did GREAT! I'm hoping for more nighttime cuddles soon.... ;)
He's got an Iron Man costume for Halloween. Not a big fan of the hat, but he doesn't mind the body suit. The kids are going to be Black Widow and Hawkeye, so we'll be taking our three Avengers out in the neighborhood to trick-or-treat.
Chip does seem territorial and/or protective, especially of me. He barks aggressively when he's on a leash and we are approached. But I've noticed he isn't bothered at all by people or even dogs when I'm holding him. Such a baby! :)
