Amy
Tracey,
Just wanted to officially let you know that we are adopting Nova. After two weeks she is trusting us and getting used to a routine of walking, snacking on carrots, and occasionally playing outside with us. There has been very little hissing from the cat and snarling from the dog so I think they are getting used to each other; although, we will probably always keep them separated. I'm attaching a few pictures. You will notice Nova is in a "thundershirt" in one of them. This seems to help her on walks. She is weighing about 24 pounds so the walks are good for her in that regard.
Thanks, again, for your patience with us though the process of the adoption of Nova.
Stella Paige
Hi. Everything is great. Took her to best vet clinic in town. The vet said she is fine, weighs 52.4 lbs., is about 7 or 8 years old, and has healed nicely from her surgery.
Vet doesn't want her at dog parks because the are a "cesspool of all kinds of germs." And wants to reduce her food to 1 and 1/4 cups twice a day.
At some point, she had a fracture in her front right wrist, but other than limping now and then, it shouldn't be a problem.
She has a back upper tooth with a little gum exposed; we will just watch it. I will take a stool sample in when I can get one. Said her teeth have been nicely cared for.
Got her checked in at the apartment complex this afternoon. Everything is fine with that.
Overall, she is very healthy. We both have taken naps today. It has been a busy 48 hours. Things with walking on the leash are much better.
So we are very happy. She follows me everywhere and minds the commands.
Thank you for bringing us together.
Jordan
Hi Virginia,
I just thought I would let you know things went great last night, the two dogs were fantastic together playing in the yard and wrestling nicely. We have changed JordanâÂÂs name to Duke which the girls like and he actually seems to respond to already. He runs so fast around our yard that our older dog just watches him cause he could never keep up and then he waits for him to come back and wrestle.
He settled really nicely in his crate and slept all night without making a sound until 7am and then went right outside to the bathroom this morning. He happily goes and lies on one of the dog beds we have in the house when he needs a rest. He certainly is confused by being in a house, the TV, ceiling fan and mirrors had him very curious last night. We took him out twice for a walk so far and his is very reactive to other dogs and kids but he is still pretty good on leash considering, we will work on that right away.
All is good, I will take a few photos of the total family with him this week and send through to you for the website if you like.
Freeway
Freeway is doing "Awesome!!!" He had to have 5 teeth pulled right after he was adopted, but seems to be doing just fine with the treat in his mouth in the first picture! LOL!
Swan
Tory B. (Formerly swan) is just perfect! I should have named her shadow because she goes wherever I go. She is a total lover and loves to have constant human contact. She may be just under 65 lbs but she thinks she about 5 lbs. Also, there is no such thing as personal space with her. Luckily for her, that doesn't seem to bother anyone since she is just the sweetest girl! Some of her favorite toys are tennis balls, braided rope, socks, and bones to chew on. Some of her favorite activities are playing fetch, taking naps, going on walks, chasing squirrels and guarding the front door. Some of her favorite snacks are doggie treats and peanut butter of course but, she loves munching on celery and bananas! Tory is also very smart and learns very quickly. I could not be more lucky to have her!
