Reece
Hi Virginia!
Well, today was 2 weeks, and they’ve gone by really fast! I’m still just totally enamored with Reece and she’s been a great little friend! I wanted to thank you and your organization again for saving her and brightening up my life with her!
One of the things you hear about some times is that all the good things you read about a dog up for adoption are exaggerated or they may be totally different when they are put in a different environment… I’m happy to report that all of Reece’s qualities that were advertised in her profile were 100% accurate. She comes to Petco with me when I’m buying toys, treats, or food, and she has several “buddies” there now who spoil her rotten with treats and she loves all the attention. Little kids ask to pet her and she showers them with affection. She is GREAT with dogs just like you told me. She met a HUGE bloodhound at Petco yesterday and had a polite encounter with him. I went to help a friend with some work on his house today, and she played in the yard with his dog for several hours while we worked. Everyone compliments her on what a pretty girl she is and how well behaved and friendly she acts.
Reece gets plenty of attention and exercise, and we had a nice little field trip to Antioch Park last weekend and I plan to take her back there tomorrow. When I was a kid, I had a dog who couldn’t be around strangers or other dogs, he just went crazy and got aggressive. Reece is the first dog I’ve ever had who I can enjoy the outside world and other people with – it is such a different and wonderful experience!
Thanks again! Best of luck finding good homes for all of the animals in your care, and if you or your group are ever holding any events in my neck of the woods, please let me know and I’ll try to bring her by to visit!
Have a great one,
Kelley
Rocky
Hi, Virginia,
Rocky is doing amazing! He is very adjusted and happy. He and the mini Schnauzer Dakota have been chasing each other and playing quite a bit. Dozer used to bark at them and they would stop playing but now it seems like Dozer doesn't care. I believe all three dogs are doing wonderfully together now. Rocky's been eating normally and his stool is regular too. I've also taught him to stay off my bed and he waits for permission to come on my bed. It's really cute. He is also much more responsive when I call his name but we still need a little work on it. That's what I hope the classes will help me with.
I understand today is the last day of my trial for Rocky with T.A.R.A. He is a keeper and I'll be sending in a "Happy Tails" report soon.
Thanks for keeping in touch,
Angie
Rika
"She is doing excellent! She is so happy! And it’s hard to believe but she has only had once accident inside the house. She gets a little sad when I leave the house though and tends to cry and howl but I’m sure will get better over time."
Rigby
Rigby was adopted by a wonderful family, along with another TARA "kid", Mesha/April. His new sister, April, tells us "We all went to Petsmart from the kennel. I got my own new bed and lots of toys. You will also see I got a new food bowl and so did my new brother, Rigby. Mine is the more empty of the two cause I ate really good. And we both got brand new soft beds!!! Don't worry about me or Rigby, we are both behaving very well and our new humans love us, they already had friends drop by to meet us...Thanks for taking care of me and Rigby until Frank and Cordell could come get us!!! April"
Rollo
Thanks for checking in; Lewis and Rolo are wonderful, healthy kitties and I feel so lucky that we have them! Rolo needed some dental work early this year but he's all recovered from that now. Both of them are really good about using their scratching posts, and they're really sweet-natured.
I don't have photos ready right now, sorry
