Penelope is a super sweet girl who absolutely loves every person she meets and loves to play! She is doing a great job of leaving the horrible life she had to endure in a puppy mill behind her and moving forward. At almost 7 years old, she's learning what a real life full of love from T.A.R.A. volunteers has to offer her. Everything is new to her, as if she were a puppy...even learning to keep her big Bulldog head out of the refrigerator! Penelope has had a few issues with jealousy with some other dogs over attention and we currently have her in a foster home that is addressing that issue.  We believe that with her learning what being loved feels like for the first time in her life, that she just gets greedy and wants it all. She has never harmed another dog at all, but she has nipped them a few times when vying for a toy or affection. She has also been around numerous dogs that she gets along wonderfully with. Penelope is not good with cats, as she thinks it's hilarious to chase them!

We do want to make sure that all applicants know and understand that Bulldogs are known as "high maintenance dogs" due to being prone to skin issues and having to have their folds cleaned every single day, being prone to eye issues, knee and joint problems, and being extremely sensitive to heat and cold...so time outside during these times will have to be very limited to potting only. Penelope is extremely sweet and is totally worth the pampering that her 'Diva' breed entails!

Adoption Fee: $250.00

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and prevention (if age appropriate), flea prevention and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a two week trial.

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.
