Twire and her sister Tinkerbell and mother Taylor came to us when their caretaker moved to a nursing home.
Twire and Tinkerbell had a very rough start in their life as their mother was on her own for awhile to nourish herself as well as 7 kits and although Twire and Tinkerbell were the only survivors of the litter, the lack of nourishment had stunted their growth.
Since being in our care, you can see that Twire has grown physically to be the size of what a cat her age should be (she loves her food) but because her mental development had also been stunted, she is still learning how to be a cat and what to do with humans.
Twire has progressed very well in the area of play and especially likes laser lights. She would be best in a home with a cat or dog playmate as she continues to learn what humans are for. She is a little further along in her social development than her sister but that's because she has had more one on one time with our volunteers. We expect she will warm up to humans in a quiet home environment with experienced and patient cat people.
In case you are wondering where her name comes from "Twire" is one of Disney's Never Fairies described as having "an optimistic personality - she believes that most bad situations can be turned into good situations". One couldn't describe her or her life any better!
