Spooky

Hello to both of you! I wanted to write, firstly, to thank you both very much for helping me to adopt Spooky. Secondly, I'm pleased to report that he's been successfully integrated into my home. My other cat, Sapa, was initially none too pleased about what I'm sure he saw as a little intruder. I let them interact a little when I first brought Spooky home, which was perhaps a mistake. In any case, I separated them for a few days, allowing them to gradually interact more and more. By Wednesday, they'd started playing. As a precaution, I continued to separate them overnight and when I wasn't there, but I can now leave them together when I'm not home. Sapa has shown no aggression toward Spooky, and they've been playing together a lot. Sometimes, they're both just very relaxed and casual, which also makes me happy! In my application, I mentioned that I used to have a female cat, who died of old age. She tolerated Sapa, but they were never close—and they never played together. Of course, I played with both of them, but seeing Sapa play with Spooky has been wonderful. They bop each other on the head and jump around. It's easy to tell when cats are agitated, and they're clearly having fun. Spooky is a crazy ball of energy. When he was separated from Sapa, he woke me up three days in a row by biting my toes through the covers! That's expected from a kitten, but Sapa has had more energy lately, too. I think it's wonderful for him to have another cat to play with, and he hasn't had that for years. Forgive me for going on so much, but I wanted to say that having Spooky join my family has been brilliant for Sapa and for me. I think Spooky's happy, too. I could go on indefinitely about all the goofy things he's done. So, in our post-Twitter world, this email was excessively wordy, but I wanted to thank you both very much! Spooky is an amazing cat. I'm grateful to know him, and I'm grateful to both of you for your help!
