Willa
Hi Steph,
Things are going great here! We have fallen in love with Willa.
She is finding her footing here. The first 5 days we rarely saw her as she was hiding under our guest room bed and only came out for food and a quick look around. Then she progressed to exploring the second floor...then sleeping with us at night. She is absolutely fascinated with our morning ritual of getting ready for work. She uses this time to check us out, play with our other cats and chase around the upstairs. She is just now finding the first floor - comes down for a few minutes than goes flying up the stairs. We feed all the cats a tsp of soft food for a treat when we get home from work in addition to their regular cat food.... as I am typing this to you, Willa is about 10 feet away, on the first floor, eating her afternoon snack with the other cats. She must really like the soft food as when her's is gone, she goes over and finishes the other cats' food as well.
I am pleasantly surprised that my other cats are getting along so well with Willa. Our dominant male, Waldo, has given up his bed on our bed to Willa and now sleeps in the chair instead of with us. McDuff tolerates her playing with his tail and pouncing on him when he sleeps on the floor. The only one that we are having issue with is our shy female, Winnie. Winnie just likes to play by herself and when Willa comes too close Winnie hisses and runs away....which to Willa is one big game of chase. All we do is smile and laugh. I know that they will be great friends in the future as they both like to play.
I think that Willa is getting used to Jon and me as well...particularly in the mornings we can walk right by her without her running away - and this week she has even let us be standing and bend down to pet her (and she purrs!)... prior to this time, we had to be sitting on the floor to pet her.
Now that I know you would like to hear about Willa, I will write to you....and maybe in the next email I will be sending you her picture sitting on a chair by us!
Thank you for all the kindness that you shown to Willa, Jon and myself. Because of your care, we have a new member of our family that brings more smiles to our hearts.
Take care,
Susan
Wyatt
Everything is going very well, better than expected. He has really acclimated to the ladies in our circle. Loves to just lay between Pam and I in bed at night, but really snuggles closer to Pam than me. He goes out side and potties pretty well and holds it all day and night, so that is a blessing. He comes to us when we ask him to come in so that is really good. However, the best part is in my book and why we were looking for another dog, is that he is already bring the social aspects of Beau out very well. Beau is starting to sit outside by us more and he is running and chasing Wyatt around the house. Beau is considerably quicker than Wyatt right now, so he doesn't know exactly what to think of that, but this is all really encouraging.
Pam and I and others have made the same comment, that Beau should be really thankful that we found him first, as Wyatt is a really cool dog. He also loves our granddaughter as he just follows and plays with her alot.
I see no reason why this is not going to work, he is a great dog and addition to our family. Thanks again for all you all do and did for us, Wyatt and Beau.
I have attached some pics so please pass around if I have left someone off that was instrumental in this adoption.
Sincerely, Pam and Mel
Winston
Winston is doing great! We love him so much! He is a little spoiled, but I don’t think he minds J He is so silly – we have bought him all kinds of toys, but his favorite things to play with are foil balls, straws, and my crafting paintbrushes. He also likes to watch football, he is pretty much glued to the TV when the Chiefs are on J
Webster
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to let you all know that Elvis is doing great. He sleeps through the night, follows me everywhere and wants to play with Rescue (cat). I gave him Jake's first ball Tuesday when we got home and it hasn't left his side. He has started barking at anyone walking by my door. He might be small but he is our protector.
I will keep in touch and will see you soon.
Deb
William
I wanted to give you an update on Williams first night. We decided to rename him Chance and he is already starting to respond to it. He was wonderful last night!! He wore my kids out and they wore him out. He and I have bonded well and he follows me everywhere (he's laying behind the computer chair while I type this) :-) No accidents in the house, he loves his new backyard! He knows the sit command and we have started working on stay. He is catching on quick, he is so smart!! I feel so blessed that we have him. My son told me last night "mom, now all my dreams have come true". I will keep you updated on Chance and how wonderful he is :)
