Prince Charles
Virginia,
I just wanted to let you know how Charlie is doing. See the attached photo....he is the greatest. We run about 8 miles a day and he is a great watch dog. All of them get along now too. Thanks for helping me find him.

Pearl
Virginia,
Thank you for the email. Pearl (I was fond of the name) is doing great. She has been a complete joy. Her and Ziva are getting along well, with a little jealousy, but that was to be expected. They are adorable :-).
Parker
Hi Virginia!
It's been a while. I hope all is well with you and TARA! Today is Parker's 2-year adoptaversary! I can't believe it's been two years since you brought him up to us in Nebraska.
He is doing great and enjoying his new friend Abby (who we got in July). He never ceases to amaze me. For the first year and nine months, he was really aloof, never slept on the bed and didn't seem to enjoy being close or getting petted for very long.
Then there was a big snowstorm, with lots of wind (combined with a smoke detector that was beeping for days - we couldn't find it, believe it or not) and he freaked out. Every night for two weeks he was up for hours panting panting panting and sometimes shaking. He would be on the bed, off the bed, under the bed, trying to get in a closet, back on the bed, off the bed..etc (you get the idea). He also chewed up two doorframes one afternoon. Then after about two weeks of the night time stressing, he just started sleeping on the bed, wedged in between us, every night. He snuggles up to one of us and usually puts his head on our pillows.
I figured what we got the first year and three-quarters was what we would have forever, so this change is amazing. He seems much more calm now and when he goes to sleep, he is soundly asleep.
He is such a sweet boy and now he's more snuggly! We are so happy every day that we have him!
I hope all is well with you!
Take Care!!!

Priscilla
Vona,
I promised you some of pictures of Pepper (formerly Priscilla). We have found Pepper to be a bit of a comedian and also a drama
queen. When Jerry gets her Kong treat ready with peanut butter at night and he isn't moving fast enough to suit her, she will let
him know with some whining. When she is going out to bark at something in the backyard with the boys(our 2 little dogs), she likes to take a "running start" by backing up and putting her butt in the air. When I water my plants, she thinks she needs to get a drink
from the water at the same time. She is very good with routine. She usually gets dog biscuits in the morning and leads me to the biscuits right at the exact same time every morning. She loves to go on our daily walks. She loves to snuggle with you at night and adores any attention you will give her. Pepper's favorite toy is a brightly colored ball she loves to go after. I hope the rest of the "Presley" family and all of you are doing well.
Peggy Sue
Virginia and T.A.R.A. volunteers,
It's hard to believe it's already been eight months
since we adopted our dog, Millie. We wanted to let
you see how much she's grown, and to know what a
fantastic part of our family she has become! When
we met her at the Sears Grand in Merriam, she was
only 10 weeks old and weighed about 10 pounds.
She's a Great Pyrenese/Dalmation mix, and she hadn't
gotten her spots yet. Now at ten months, she weighs
about 54 pounds and has a really beautiful coat! At
the time we adopted her (then named Peggy Sue) we
were told she was a good southern girl, rescued with
her sister (Ellie Mae) from Tennessee. Our son
chose the name Millie, and our daughter insists her
middle name is Mae. Her dog tag actually says
"Millie Mae." So she still has a piece of her
sister with her.
Millie's had a busy life. She and I went through
two dog obedience classes at our local Petsmart.
She always had a sweet spirit, and a few manners
helped her become an even more wonderful pet.
Millie has not been in her kennel at all since
Christmas, and she has free reign of the house when
we're gone. As long as she has plenty of toys to
chew on, Millie leaves our things alone.
Millie has a ton of energy, so she loves our walks
and running along with the bike, or practically
pulling the kids on their scooters. She want to
ride in our van every day, and take trips to the
off-leash dog park. Millie even loves the baths
that usually happen after the trip to the dog park.
She's recently become more protective of our home,
and we think that's a good thing.
We were looking to add a pet to our fa mily last
summer, and we are so thankful that we happened to
meet her that day back in August 2007. Our kids
feel good telling people "we saved Millie from the
wild!" Thank you for your tireless work to help
pets find good families like ours who will love and
spoil their dogs for years to come!
