Dog day at the pool. Tucker is doing fantastic. Last time we took him to the dog park he followed Emma right into the pond. This was the first time he has shown any interest in swimming. This occurred about a week before this pool event a couple weeks ago. Last year, he would only play in the baby pool but this year he played in the big boy pool. We took about 200 pictures that day and thought you might like to see a couple. Hope you are doing well. We can't imagine life without Tucker in the family. He has such and kind sweet heart and loves to cuddle. He really enjoyed me being home all summer to play with him. Definitely a momma's boy. Ashley

Penelope

She is the most perfect cat ever- no exaggeration. What a well-adjusted animal. She is not afraid of May (definitely cautious though because May hisses at her) but May is a little afraid of her. May will hiss at Penelope when she walks by, but P is pretty submissive and just flops down in front of May. P hasn't hissed at May at all. She simply wants to play with May but May isn't quite ready because she is afraid. However, there has been huge progress within the last couple days and they do lay within 3 feet of each other without May hissing sometimes. It's gonna be a great situation once May gets used to her! P has even been cleaning herself like a pro, so she is no longer stinky at all! Yay. I hope little Pepe is doing okay without his sis around. I've been wondering about him. Take care, Angela

Parlee

This is a foster failure (adoption) story. Parlee is one of the 21 junk yard pups that were up for adoption through T.A.R.A.; the story inspired me to become a foster. This sweet, active, funny girl is a quick learner and always on the go until she flops over for a nap. She grew up romping, learning routines and manners from her dog sister Molly and when it came time to find her a forever home, I realized she was home! Parlee loves water - tub, kid pool or lake – she jumps right in and likes to stick her nose under water to blow bubbles! She is so polite that she brings me items that she finds to see if it’s okay to chew on them. Parlee is a great foster puppy-sitter and eagerly greats other fosters into our home. We are very fortunate that two of her favorites, Leroy (Sherman T, part of the junk yard pack) and Dublin (Roger), were adopted by friends so we see them often and have formed quite the extended family pack. Parlee is fun, smart and such a joy. Renee Sexton

Patrick

Hi Melanie! Things are going well here, but we have existing cats, so we are taking it very slow. He has been in a jack and jill bedroom set up (2 rooms with a bathroom between). We are trying to get the smells familiar with our native cats. Today we plan to lock up our cats and let Patrick explore the house some. As far as patrick is concerned, he is great! He is so lovey and playful and relaxed. We love him already. We really want the transition with the others to go well so we are just taking baby steps. I will send pics soon. Michele Benjamin

Pinocchio

Hi Sherri! We wanted to update you on Eddie (Pinocchio). He's growing so much! He's over 55 pounds. He's very protective, but so sweet. He loves to chase any ball and toy (or stick) you throw for him. He's so fast, and loves to run with our son, Jack. He had his first overnight away, when we were out of town. One of our dear friends Beth "claimed" the first night away when she met him as a puppy. She has an adopted Dobie mix, and the 2 have been best buds. We've had lots of visitors this summer, and several of them have fallen in love with him to the point they want to take him home. We love him more every day!! Thank you again for bringing him into our lives. Jacqueline Kremer
