O'Brian
First off, thank you for taking such great care of him and allowing us to adopt such a loving and playful kitty. This is the first pet we've owned together and we couldn't ask for a better one. Our path to him started when we had a "second hold" on a cat we were hoping to adopt from Wayside Waifs. We were in Petco buying supplies for him when they called and told us the people who had the "first hold" had claimed him (less than two hours before their deadline). We were disappointed, but continued shopping knowing we would find another kitty sometime. Little did we know that moment would be a few minutes later as we were checking out when we met O'Shannon and her three kitties! Looking back at that, we can only assume it was fate that brought him to us.
Fast forward a week to the awesome experience of bringing Buster home. He was pretty fearless from the start, letting his curiosity guide him all over the house. He searched over almost every inch of the house and would stop on his way by to play a little with us before continuing on to explore. You can see in one of the first pics, his exploring included the TARA bag we were given to take with him.
Fast forward another week to today, and all is very well - he is perfect for us. His demeanor is a great balance of playful, relaxed, curious, independent and loving, as you can see in the following pictures. He's still exploring (even our cookware); he loves napping, on his cat tree and on us; and he loves playing with anything that rolls, bounces, swings...whatever. Just about everything he does makes us smile and laugh. We really hope the rest of his family is on their way to finding loving homes as well. He has made ours a better place than we thought it could be. Thanks again.
Much love,
Ben and Marisa
O'Claire
Hi, Catherine!
Little Rose is getting along famously here--attached is a picture of her playing as Sylvia holds the “catfishing” pole. She plays like mad during the day, but is actually pretty calm at night, sleeping on Sylvia’s bed (other than tipping over her cat dish last night). And she eats like a HORSE! It’s hilarious--we’re not sure where it all goes ...
Thanks for your kindness and your work to find homes for these little guys and girls!
O'Malley
I am so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you! O'Malley I think made his self at home day two of being with us. We were all sitting on the couch watching a movie and he very slowly put one paw on the couch and then the next to gently push is way to curl up with us! :) Aj and him play great and he is very gentle with Aj when they play. Thanks for everything... We love Him! The Benson's
Oliver
Kelley,
Hi there! Everything is going great! Oliver is good - I'm sort of embarrassed to say this and I don't know why, but his name somehow morphed in our house from Oliver to Otto - I'm still not quite sure how it happened, but he seems to like it and responds to it, so it has kind of stuck (I guess he's lucky to only have two names - our cats have about 12 nicknames each, used interchangably). So, yeah, we've got him listed that way at the vet and on his collar. If you'd like to change your records that would be fine. Everything else should be current in terms of our information.
He is doing really well. We just love him and he makes us laugh every day. We have two cats and see progress weekly in terms of everyone adjusting. We know he's had some issues in the past with other dogs and we've been working with him on the socialization. It is definitely our biggest challenge at this point but we're getting there. :) And who knows, maybe he's just not cut out to be a dog's dog and that's fine too. Today we enrolled him (and ourselves!) in the Beginner level training class at Petsmart. Every time we go in we end up chatting for a long time with the lady who teaches training there, so we're pretty excited to get him into a formal class with her.
Best,
Kate
Oscar
Hey Virginia!
It's good to hear from you. Oscar is doing well. He is definitely in transition and trying to figure out if this is permanent or not. He is pretty skiddish; it could be because everything is just so new. Do you know if he was abused in his last home? Do you know anything else about his previous owners? Did they have kids? I don't think he had any training at all...
We love having him though! He is such a joy, and loves so easily (and full of kisses!!). He'll come around, I'm sure the unknowns are hard for him, but he will learn that he can trust us in time I'm confident. We love him already!
Thanks for checking in,
Julie
