Maddie
She's been getting more and more comfortable and her personality is coming out more and more, which is great to see :). I heard her bark for the first time yesterday, I was at a friend's house and she saw the cats through the window!
I'm planning on getting her started at a doggy daycare, hopefully next week. I'd like to take her there once a week so she gets to play with other dogs and gets used to them.
I'm very happy with Maddie and glad that I found her!
Thank you!
Rachael
Moro
Moro is doing wonderfully! He has some puppy playmates :)
Macy
She has adapted amazingly to our 3 other cats and our golden retriever! Macy is sweet and funny - she follows us everywhere in the house and loves to be petted and brushed. One of the cutest things she does is "hunt" a 5- inch rubber doorstop; we find it moved to different parts of the house when we're not looking - especially overnight. In the daytime, we know when she's moved it because she lets out some loud cries and runs - we immediately look and find the doorstop laying where she was - we're not sure if she carries it or bats it or both! Macy loves to lie between my husband's feet or on his chest in the evenings when he's in his recliner - it's adorable.
Macy is such a good girl; there were concerns that she might not use her litter box, but she has never failed to use it at my mom's or at our house. Hilary Boorstein is the wonderful TARA volunteer who matched us with Macy; I completely agree with her counsel at the time- she was very upfront with Macy's history and told us that the most common reason a cat will avoid the litter box is if it is not kept clean. We have one large litter box for each of our cats and are vigilant in keeping them clean. We also use Feliway diffusers since our "fur family" grew from one dog and one cat to one dog and four cats within a 3 month period; we took in two cats that had belonged to my mom and one cat that had belonged to my husband's mom. I think the Feliway helped them all adjust more easily. I'll continue to use the diffusers for another couple of months since the male cat is still adjusting; he was the last one we took in and at 13 years old, had never lived with another pet! He's very loving, but wary of his new siblings and still hisses at them now and then. He chases our dog -very funny to watch! Or dog works hard to stay out of his way! Thanks for checking on Macy. She's a doll - we are so lucky to have her! Cheryl
Molly
Hi Virginia,
Thing are going fine with Molly. She was very scared at first, but I think she is becoming more comfortable. She is definitely a character and is a pleasure to have in my life. Thanks to all of you for this opportunity!
Have a great day!
Mark
