Lottie

Hi Tracey. I just wanted you to know that I took Lottie to the vet for a well puppy check and there is no sign of a heart murmur. I am taking her back next Wednesday for a follow up but he listened at the beginning of the appt. and then 30 minutes later and there was no sign. GREAT NEWS! :) Thanks for the opportunity to adopt Lottie... she has been awesome and adjusted so well!! Have a great day.

Lyric

Hi Sherrie, Ellie is doing great! She has only had one accident in the house and that was just a couple of dribbles before I reminded her that we were going outside. She has learned to love her crate, and she will even hang out in there while we are home as long as the door is open. The one red toy she loves has multiplied into four, so she gets plenty of exercise running back and forth down the hallway. I am beginning to think that you spent all day every day training Ellie because she is so well behaved. I am sure there will be some bumps in the road when she starts testing her boundaries, but we are up to the challenge. I hope Liberty finds a good home soon, but I am sure she is very happy and content to be with you!

Lizzie

"Hi, Virginia! I've been meaning to drop you a line to let you know how things are going. First I want to let you know that we renamed little Lizzie to Sammy. Lizzie is a good name, but I thought she needed a name that's a little stronger, to go with her ragamuffin appearance. Since she didn't answer to Lizzie anyway, I figured she'd be okay with the change (though she doesn't answer to Sammy yet, either!). I hope you all are okay with that, too! We love this little dog! She's so loving and adorable and hasn't been any trouble at all. She's only had two accidents in the house...one the first evening and then one the next morning. After that, she figured out the routine and which door to go to to go outside. Very smart puppy! Andi seems fine with her now. She established dominance early on and Sammy got the message. They mostly leave each other alone. Andi's just happy to have someone around to divert Sasha's attention from her, so she can get some rest! Sasha, on the other hand, started out well and played nicely with little Sammy until she realized she was here to stay. Now she's acting very jealous. We've had a couple of minor altercations but nothing huge and they do like to chase each other around the fenced yard. I worked from home the past couple days so that I could be around to see how things go. As of yesterday afternoon, Sasha was starting to thaw a little bit and has started herding Sammy down the stairs, so that's a good sign. We're pretty sure she'll come around. We tried Sammy out in the big yard this morning without a leash and she and Sasha ran around and chased frisbees. Sammy then ran over to meet the neighbors and their dogs and explore their yards. It took us a while to catch her again, especially since she doesn't respond to her name yet. We'll keep working with her. She's learning a lot by following the other dogs' lead. I've attached a picture of her that I took a few minutes ago. She'd just heard a fly in the room. Thanks for checking in and feel free to do so any time. You'll probably also be able to find updates about Sammy on Sasha's blog (www.blogdoggy.typepad.com) or on her Facebook page (Blog Doggy). She (I) started the blog when Sasha was a baby and have kept it going, although I don't have nearly as much time to write as I used to since I went back to a corporate job. Sasha has a lot to blog about now! I'm glad we found Sammy at the home show. I feel like she was meant to be ours. Thank you!"

Loretta

Loretta is now named Roxy and her family sent us this wonderful update: "Hi Virginia, Thought I would give you an update of our weekend thus far and the story behind the picture. Roxy is settling in very nicely. Today she is completely comfortable with us. Her tail is up and her personality is starting to really shine through. We just love her! She's a gem and I'm grateful to you that you saved her, so we could make her apart of our family. Okay, so my daughter and son-in-law stopped by and we decided to get our yearly Christmas family photo. We had taken two pictures and Roxy was in the room but kind of watching from the side. I'm not one to pose for lots of pictures, so on the third shot I said this is the last one. During the first two shots, Roxy had been looking at the camera and must have noticed the flasing light which was the countdown to the timer. Well, as my husband set the timer for this shot, and stepped into the photo, Roxy came in front, turned around, sat up nice, and as you can see, looked right at the camera! No one had said a word to her. We are touched that she wanted to be included in the family photo. Thank you for all you do to bless the lives of dogs who cannot do it for themselves. You and T.A.R.A. will always have a special place in our hearts."

Landon

Hi Sherrie, I just wanted to check in and see how Landon was doing. Leo is adapting really well to the new home. He and Bella are having a great time together. She taught him how to chase squirrels. It’s so cute to watch him run and chase them because he stumbles over his long legs. Attached are a couple of photos of Leo. The 2nd photo, both the dogs are staring at a squirrel eating our pumpkins on the front porch. Hope all is well! Sara
