Jürgen

Just wanted to give an update for Jurgen. Resident cats have finally welcomed him. They are in love with this guy and we want to say thank you to everyone!

Jazz

I wanted to give you all an update on "Jazz" aka Dexter. His best friend is Mao the cat (a rescue from wayside waifs). They snuggle often and Mao licks him. He is a happy farm dog.

Jaxson

Hi Tracey and Kirin! Jax is doing really well. In the last month we've sold the house and are now living in a very pet friendly apartment which has a large dog park across the street. He's even made several fur friends both at the park and the fur babies our friends have. He made a lover out of Lola a rescue Pit/Rot who typically is a bit skittish around new people and animals. She belongs to our friends Jake and Lindsay. We're still a bit mouthy and tend to nibble on people when we shouldn't. Since November I've purchased a TON of toys, they don't last long. I have found one that works, you just need the industrial nibbler strength. We do daily walks with him even when it's cold. In better weather we have an awesome trail which Brett takes him for runs on. He REALLY LOVES to do runs with Brett. He's a really fast runner, Lola couldn't keep up with him at the dog park and ended up pulling a hammy trying to. Imagine a spotted cow colored dog who weighs 65 lbs. having to be carried around like she's a baby for several days. Lindsay told me the next day she got stuck under their bed that night and they had to pull the whole bed apart at 2 AM. He's a total showoff around people but I think there is a bit of anxiety about it as he does become more mouthy the more people you have. I've learned when it's just me and Jax he's the sweetest thing in the whole world, you add someone else and he's likely to start getting up in their face, licks a lot, nibbles, or jumps/walks all over them. He has a few spots in the apartment which are Jaxie spots and this helps settle him. Oh yes, we call him Jax but we also call him Jaxie, Captain Jax Sparrow and when he upsets Daddy he refers to him as Private Jax. Talking about getting along with everyone, we had two couple friends over for New Years. Jax was a great sport as he allowed us to dress him up but he seemed a bit embarrassed. I've attached my favorite picture. Brett had to work so when I sent him the pic he told me I needed to stop abusing the kid (lol). Thanks for checking up on him. He's been an amazing fur baby and I'm really glad we were given the opportunity to adopt him! Cheers to pet hair and doggy kisses, Kira, Brett, and Jax

Jessie

Hey everyone! I just figured I'd send an e-mail to touch base and let you know how Jessie is doing during his first week. So far so good. I've decided to rename him Magnus because as a redhead with a Scandinavian name myself, I felt it would be an appropriate moniker for a partner in crime. He traveled really well back home and didn't meow once. Once I let him out of his carrier he spent most of the first day hiding under my bed, but would purr a lot when I'd check in with him periodically and feed him out of my hand. That night he came out, explored, and eventually let me hold him for a bit. He's definitely an active guy at night. As the week has gone on he's come out of his shell more and more each day. He still spends a lot of time under the bed during the day itself, but is staying out during the mornings for longer periods of time after I wake up and coming out earlier in the afternoon to see what I'm up to. He's vocal when he wants something from me, usually to snuggle when I'm trying to sleep. He is a real snuggle monster. He's eating all of his food (I'm trying half a cup of dry food twice a day), drinking all of his water, and using his box. His eyes have had a little goop, but I've been cleaning them with a q-tip and warm water and he's been really laid back about being held and letting me do that for him. He discovered the main window in my place the other morning so I moved a table that I had in front of it and put his condo there instead. There are a fair amount of birds outside, so I think he appreciates it. He's a little clumsy getting up to the top sometimes, but seems to be getting the hang of it. At any rate, he's fitting in well. I've attached a couple of pictures. Thanks again for all of your help throughout the adoption process and everything y'all do for the animals. -Per

Jolo

Roxie is almost 60 pounds, but she is convinced she is a lap dog.
