Ella
Ella Bella Poppy Cat (we call her Bella for short) is wonderful!!! We love her so much and she loves everyone back! She is perfect. She loves to sleep with our daughter, Taylor (who is 14), every night. We have a Yorkie, named Sophie, that is her best friend. They got along great from the first night that we brought Bella home. They lay together for naps on the couch. She is so spoiled. Whenever Sophie comes in from going potty outside, Bella comes running to the pantry door for a treat too! We are so thankful that I went into Petco for a Christmas gift for our son's cat. If not, I would never have met Bella. We know that she was meant to be with us. We feel so lucky to have her!
Emma
Emma is doing great. She is a very talkative little
girl, and loves everyone in my family, in addition to my dog. She
likes to nap with her which is very cute. I will see about getting a
picture of it. She enjoys having her tummy rubbed, cuddling, and is
a fast learner. I have taught her to sit, come when called, and twirl
in a circle for a treat. Just adorable!! And she seems to enjoy
learning. Soon, my son wants to train her to potty in the
toilet...lol. This should be interesting :-)
Evelyn
Tracey - sending an update on Evelyn. She turned one in April and I will have had her one year in October. She loves to go out back with Abby in the evenings. She wears a harness attached to a clothes line cord. Took her awhile to get use to the weight of the hook but it doesn't slow her down when chasing bugs. She still tries to sneak up on the birds at the feeder and can't figure out what gives her away.
She tolerates Abby chasing her and even provokes Abby in doing so. Her favorite game is to run into the bathroom and jump into the bathtub because she knows Abby won't follow her there. She has her moods at night as to whether she wants to sleep with Abby and me - or if she wants to play and be in her own room. I can usually tell by her mood prior to going to bed if she will be playful or ready to sleep.
She also loves to explore the mud room just off of the dining room. She cries to go out into the room and will stay out there for the longest time completely content to be by herself. I think she likes it because it is the way out to the backyard and there are grass and bugs that get in from the garage and yard.
She is quite independent but has her moments when she wants affection. It is usually in the mornings and when I get home in the evenings. She has a habit of flinging herself at my feet when she wants to be petted. I have to be careful not to step on her because she has no regard for where my feet are.
She is a delightful addition to the Tompkins family and I am so thankful you pointed her out that day Abby and I came by Petco. I hope you and yours are well. Blessings - Dori, Abby, and Evelyn Tompkins
Elijah
Hi Tracey,
Elijah has calmed down – some. Hates the crate, but I expect can learn to live with it (lots of other dogs do). He cries/barks when I leave, but is usually quiet when I return. Just has a very high anxiety level being left alone. Nonetheless he’s a wonderful little guy, a perfect house dog otherwise, and has won my heart. We’re working on some basic obedience things right now – so he understands that he’s not in charge and I am – he’s smart, so he’s learning the ropes pretty fast. Bottom line – looks like he’s a keeper :-)
Emma
Virginia,
Everything is going great. Clover is getting fixed today so she hasn't got to spend much times with her, but they're doing good together. The other day I woke up and Clover and Emma were cuddled together. I wish I had a camera for that. The only problem is the potties in the house but that is manageable and she is getting the hang of it. Also I believe that George is happy to have a friend.
Thanks for checking in,
Julie
