Adele
Adele has been doing great. She has not pooped or peed in the house. She is stubborn about her food, but she ate her science dog food this morning. She has taken over the couch and can look outside at the big maple tree for squirrels. She gets to go outside, but wants me where she can see me. She sleeps when I sleep and she doesn't roam over the house and tear up stuff, except she has to have my boot or my swimming trunks to lie down by. She is doing fine. We are having fun getting settled in, she has met the neighbor's dogs, but can't get at them. She won't play fetch with a toy yet, but I have 3 toys for her, she wants my shoe. Paul
Artimus
Hi, Virginia,
I've been meaning to email you but have spent my evenings concentrating on the doggies--
thanks for getting in touch!
Everything is going ridiculously well between them. Once in a very great while Artemus does something
that touches the cranky side of Dodger's nature (like accidentally stepping on her) and she growls and he backs off.
I know exactly how she feels because I'm the old-timer in a department of up and comers, but I also know it's
completely normal, and nothing worse has happened. They ride beautifully together in the back of my vehicle and are going to daycare
every day that I work. Dodger has brightened up since he's come on the scene. I'm so glad to have him, for her sake and for his (and mine, too, of course).
:) Myra
Alexis
Hello! I was just sending a message letting you know that the beautiful German Shepherd puppy I adopted, Alexis (now named Zoey) is doing extremely well! When I adopted her she was 4 months and 26 pounds. Now she's a year old and over 60 pounds! She's hyper and loves to play (with both dogs and people!). She loves everybody that she comes into contact with and lives in a great home with me. She has been a great companion and I wanted to thank you guys for giving me the opportunity to take in such a great dog! :) Thank you!! Laurel
Atticus
Everything is going great. He & Marley are getting along wonderfully & he's only had 1 accident in the house. He had to have been someone's pet & been trained at one time because he's did great riding in the car, does great on a leash, comes when you whistle or clap & looked very guilty when he did have his accident on the floor. :-)
He's a wonderfully behaved, laid back dog. We could hardly have asked for a better dog & are so happy we picked him!
Aimee
Hi Tracey!
Just wanted to let you know that Darby is doing great! She's a fantastic puppy and has the best attitude toward everything! We even took her along trick-or-treating last night, and she had a blast. She is doing great indoors too, staying close but not clingy at all. I don't have to worry about her much - she has the typical puppy attraction to anything she can chew (shoes are a magnet!) but that has had the benefit of prompting my kids to keep their stuff picked up! :o) We've given her lots of toys to choose from, and she gives up the "wrong" chewie for one of her toys easily. Her favorites are a Nylabone puppy bone and a big frayed rope sheep chew toy.
She loves our kids, and they love her too. Our son has already been working with her on Sit and Down, and she even will sit for our 8 year old daughter. I just can't say enough about what a joy she is to have in our family!
I will be taking her to the vet on Monday and am wondering if you were able to make copies of the vet records for her stay with you. I know they would like to know specifically what was already done, and I don't remember all the vacc's. and dates.
I know your days have a fair amount of stress & sadness lately, and I want you to know how much we appreciate your work with the homeless animals. You have made a big difference in our lives and also Darby's! Know that she is well loved and will have a great life! I hope her sisters have the same good fortune. I actually had several people comment on how good she is already - and one was our chief of police.
Sending a few photos with this too.
Thank you again,
Lori, Myron, Aaron & Rachel
