Little Penny is a sweet and affectionate little Rat Terrier mix who is approximately 5-7 years old.  Penny is the perfect combination- she's young and still spunky, but she's past all the crazy puppy stages and is already trained. She is about 11 lbs, a nice smaller size without being a yappy or snippy small dog. She found herself homeless, and a local Animal Control took her in. When no family was found, we took her in to give her a chance to live with a family again.  She has proven to be an excellent family member.  She is housebroken, fine in a kennel, and knows a few basic commands. Penny loves all people and isn't bothered by fast moving kids.  She's very affectionate, and an expert kisser and snuggler.  She loves to be curled up in your lap or in a soft bed.  She's been around big and smaller dogs and is fine with both, though she is a little more stand offish with larger dogs.  Penny is fully vetted and has been spayed and microchipped.  She deserves a family of her own and would make an excellent addition to any family. Please consider making Penny part of your family.

Approximate Birthdate:  November 2008

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a  two week trial  .

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.
