Sloppy Joe's story begins like so many others. He and is brother Slick Rick didn't get lost, they got dumped. Not only did they get dumped, but they were dumped in a rural Missouri town that has minimal resources to help abandoned dogs. Dogs have the most forgiving nature, even after being abused or abandoned. Joe is 9 months old and about 35-40lbs. I'm pretty sure he has never been shown love before but he's enjoying the lovin' he's getting after being rescued! Maybe that's because he finally feels safe and knows no one will ever abandon him again if I can help it.
Joe has been to the dog park and loves it. He is great with other dogs and loves people just as much. He is so sweet and good. Anytime someone meets him they comment on how good he is and how laid back he is. Joe's rescue situation is urgent. He and his brother were rescued in order to not be euthanized but there isn't anywhere for them to go. If you would like to foster Joe or adopt him please contact Jennifer at jshive@sbcglobal.net. Joe has been neutered, is up to date on shots, Heartworm prevention, Flea/Tick prevention, he's microchiped and has been dewormed. He is ready to join someone's family.
