I am a 11-year-young Shepherd Mix and I am beautiful...if I do say so myself.  I am a big girl...I weigh about 80 lbs.  My original Mommy had me since I was a puppy, but she got sick & had to find a safe place for me and my other siblings. T.A.R.A. took us all in and found wonderful places for us to live.  Some of my siblings have been adopted, probably because they were a lot younger than me. I would like to find a forever home too.  My foster Mommy calls me Miss Carolina Sunshine because she says I am such a joy to have around.  I live with my two little dog siblings and even a cat!  I like them all.  We never fight so we never have to go in a kennel.  Sometimes I like to play with them but they have more energy than me so I don't play too long.  I was really scared when I first got here because I had never been around a lot of people or to different places, but my foster Mommy takes me to scary places I have never been like the pet store, vet clinic, and dog park. I have found out they are not so scary after all.  At first I did not like riding in the car but now I get to go to get a burger when we go in the car so I like that a lot.  I am very good in the house.  I tell my foster Mommy when I need to go out, when I want water, when I want my din-din and when I want treats (which is all the time).  I don't get the treats every time, but I try!  I am cautious of new people that come into my house but after I get to know them, they are okay especially if they rub my tail bone or give me treats...Ummm...Did I mention that I like treats?  I am really not into toys, but I LIKE TREATS!  The only thing I like better than treats is a nap.  I like naps a lot so I try to take one every chance I get.  I would really like a nice quiet forever home (with lots of treats).  If you are looking for a special older "lady", I am your gal!!!

Miss Carolina Sunshine has just blossomed in the time that I have been fostering her.  She has become such a loving, more confident girl.  Once she understands what you are asking of her, she is eager to please.  She takes direction well.  Her only issue is when people come to the door she barks & blocks the doorway.  We are still working on that!  Once you meet her, I am confident you will fall in love with her. ~from Carolina's Foster Mom

Adoption Fee : $150.00

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and prevention (if age appropriate), flea prevention and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a two week trial .

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.
