After a rough start to his short little life, Socks ended up in a high-kill shelter in rural Missouri, so he thanks his lucky stars he got a second chance in Kansas City and hopes to finally find a loving person, couple, or family to hang out with. Socks is a very playful and curious eighteen-month-old terrier mix; he’s about 11 pounds and just under a foot tall. He LOVES to play with other dogs of all sizes and temperaments; he’d do really well in a house with canine siblings. He’s housetrained but still has a lot of fun puppy personality, full of of tail wags and wiggles and gentle kisses. Socks can bound over baby gates and climb chain-link fences, so he’d be happiest in an active home with a privacy fence. He winds down in the evenings, though, and will snuggle up next to you in bed and sleep through the night.

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and prevention (if age appropriate), flea prevention and deworming. TARA's pets are all eligible for a
two week trial

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed. Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.
