Jelly Bean is a sweet little Basenji mix that TARA rescued over Easter weekend.  She weighs 22 pounds and is 18 months old.   She is affectionate and seeks attention from people - though she is a little bit reserved as she is getting to know her new foster family.  She made fast friends with her foster brother the yorkie poo and sister the boston terrier -  and loves to wrestle and play with them.  Based on her reaction when she saw the cat - her foster mom is guessing she's not seen one before - she barked and ran the other way.  She is now learning that cats are fun to chase - a dog saavy cat will have no problem living with Jelly Bean.  She is house trained and crate trained - walks on the leash without a lot of pulling and knows how to sit on command.  We have not been around any small children yet but....she was friendly with the 7 year old we met on the walking trail. 
 
Jelly Bean is a darling little girl and will make a great addition to almost any family.

Adoption Fee: $150.00

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and prevention (if age appropriate), flea prevention and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a two week trial .

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.
