My name is Zoey.  I’m a female Australian cattle dog mix.  My folks got me from Wayside Waifs when I was just a pup.  I’m six now, all grown up, well-behaved, and housebroken.  I need a fenced yard because I will run off if given an opportunity.  I’ll come back, but…you know how it is.  You see a squirrel or a rabbit and you just GO for it.  I can’t help it.  Physically, I’m about 40 pounds, and I’m a “lap dog” – whatever that is.  I’m also very sweet, love to give kisses and I TOTALLY LOVE KIDS.  See photos.  I also love to play Frisbee.  I love lots of things.  My family has to move very far away to be near the medical treatment that my human brother has to have in order to live.  I will miss them SO MUCH, so if I seem a little distant at first, it’s only because I need a little time to adjust to my new family.  Don’t give up on me, o.k.?  If you will give me a home, I will give you all the love I have.  Plus I will guard your kids with my LIFE.  Seriously.  I love everybody, but I ESPECIALLY LOVE kids!

Approximate Birthdate:  08/2006

Adoption Fee: $150

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and prevention (if age appropriate), flea prevention and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a two week trial.

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.
