We received a urgent call from a kind Animal Control officer in a county where Pit Bulls are banned. They had been notified of a dog who was not treated well by his owner, and thankfully, the Animal Control swept in to make sure this unkind owner could no longer mistreat this precious dog. The owner was known to withhold food and water for long periods of time, even during the terribly hot summer weather. Unfortunately, by the time we were informed about Wilson, he only had 1 day until his time was up and he was to be euthanized.
We raced to find a foster home and Wilson was on his way out of the shelter and on to safety and security. We promised Wilson he would never have to go hungry or thirsty again, and would be safe from people who do not have good intentions. Wilson returned the favor by curling up in the air conditioned car and sighing in relief. We knew instantly that this "castaway" would make a wonderful companion for a loving family.
Wilson is a fantastic, happy dog who is content to lay by your side or play in the yard. He lives among both cats and dogs in foster care, and does great with both. He is kennel-trained, house-trained, and knows "sit" and "shake". He is great with little ones and is quite calm and well behaved for his young age. He's been esitmated at 1-2 yrs old. Wilson is neutered and is heartworm free! He has been fully vaccinated, and after all this, he is ready to find his forever family to give him hugs and kisses every day.
