Maya and her litter mates were left at Spay & Neuter Kansas City. We are guessing that she was born in early July 2010. She is a dilute calico and has seven toes on each of her front feet, making her a polydactyl, known as a mitten or Hemingway cat. Hemingway kittens are traditionally named after famous people so her full name is Maya Angelou.

She was living with a foster family, including another kitten and two adult cats. Her foster mom describes her as having a huge personality. She loves to play but also loves to cuddle, sometimes stopping in the middle of a wrestling match with other cats to get a few snuggles in before going back out to play. She is utterly fearless and has told more than one dog to mind his manners around her. She also knows what the word no means. We were still working on resisting the potted plants so be sure to kitten proof them before she comes home with you.

Approximate Birthdate:  07/2010

Due to the fact that most of our animals come from the local high kill shelter, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.
