Hi, there! I’m Gracie. I’m a five-year-old Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen mix; that’s a fancy French way of saying “short woolly hound.” I’m looking for a new family to love. My former family worked a lot, so I had to spend a lot of time alone in the garage, where I learned to amuse myself by chewing up some things. I’m a smart dog! What else was I supposed to do all day? They didn’t like it, so they sent me packing. But in my foster family, I’m going on two 20- to 30-minute walks a day, and I feel like a new dog and haven’t had to chew on a thing. When we get back from a long walk or after a fun game of “fetch the tennis ball,” I’m content to nap away the afternoon at my foster mom’s feet. I get along great with my foster brother and sister dogs, and I’m learning to tolerate their smelly old cat. I know I’m a good dog; I’m confident and playful and my tail is always wagging. I’m hoping that I can get lucky and find an active person or family to hang out with and see the sights and smell the smells. Got kids? No problem! I love kids. I’m spayed, up to date on vet visits and shots, and already housetrained, so all I need is a walking buddy who loves me. I hope it’s you!

Adoption Fee: $150.00

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and prevention (if age appropriate), flea prevention and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a two week trial.

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.
