Juniper is truly an exceptional dog and it saddens me to think that no one wants to give her a chance because she is essentially a non-descript, brown little dog who is missing a foot. This energetic 1 1/2 year old little girl was picked up by Animal Control and rescued before her appointment with the lethal injection, so there is no way to know what her previous life might have been like; however, bad things must have happened to her since she is missing most of her left rear foot which she thankfully doesn't seem to be aware of since she runs like the wind.
Since she's come to live with me and my cats and dogs, she has been a constant source of joy. Juniper has such a sunny disposition and exceptional attitude that she lets absolutely nothing bother her. If she were human, she'd be one of those perpetually happy, peppy, perky people that I find so irritating but in a dog it's a wonderful quality. From day one, she went ouside to relieve herself without having to be trained; she has never destroyed or chewed on anything she wasn't supposed to and she is very gentle and loving with the cats. She also does well with the dogs and plays rough and tumble to the point of exhaustion.
Juniper does not bark much. She would be an absolutely wonderful playmate for children or a loving companion for a single person although she might do best in a home with other dogs and cats or where someone is there most of the time and can give her a lot of love and attention. Granted, she is not a designer dog or will ever be crowned beauty queen, but she is one of the most good natured, even tempered dogs I've ever had the privilege to save.
