Get ready to meet this gorgeous squishy-faced muppet named Fozzie Bear! He's got the looks and he's got the heart, the total package. A sensitive boy who loves people of all ages, dogs and cats, Fozzie is looking for his special forever home. Fozzie was abandoned in a home with another dog and some cats in rural Missouri and we don't think he was treated very well before his family simply up and left. Some kind rescue folks moved him to boarding while they searched for a safe spot for him.
Fozzie can now rest his head at night knowing he is safe with a rescue group. It has not been an easy life for him, and he truly deserves an individual or family who will love and protect him. His physical scars are visible, but this boy is so loving and forgiving, he simply enjoys a soft blanket or dog bed to lay on and an occasional treat and gentle pet. He is currently in a foster home with other dogs and cats, and we think he would love other pets in the home to show him the ropes. New things are a bit scary, so Fozzie needs to know that he is safe because he doesn't like being left alone, likely due to having been abandoned by people he loved and trusted. He would also really love a fur buddy to follow around and cuddle with.
Fozzie will use the kennel when his foster people are gone, but since everything is new, he worries he will be left for good. He has started training with a kong and peanut butter when the humans leave so that he knows the kennel is a happy place. He's slowly learning that some people do return and its going to be ok. Oh, he is so very happy to see a friendly face when the people return! A few whines of relief and a hug, and he's ready to go outside to potty. Fozzie is completely house trained and has not had any accidents indoors. He will go to the back door when he has the urge to potty.
Fozzie would do best in a home where there will be an adult home during the day, or for the most part of the day. And he sleeps like a baby when in bed with a human. He does not like sleeping separately because of the worry of being left alone. If you are looking for a cuddly sweet friend who will always be by your side or napping in the sun in the next room, you've found your guy. His wrinkly face and big lovey eyes will warm your heart at first sight. You may even fall in love.
Fozzie is neutered and is current on all vaccinations. He is estimated at 2-3 years old and weighs about 75lbs. DNA test results pending.
