Lucky has come to us from an unstable home life and is currently being fostered with a 90lb dog, who he loves following around. Lucky is about six years old, 22lbs, dog and human friendly, crate trained, house trained, likes to snuggle and burrow under covers. Also loves playing with toys and chasing balls! Sometimes he wants them all to himself but seems willing to share when encouraged to do so. Prior to his arrival at TARA, he didn't know when his human would come home, when he would be fed or let out to potty so he will need patience and loving reassurance to set him up for success. Lucky is a smart boy. He has been a quick learner in the new environment, knows basic commands and responds to verbal redirection. He likes to check out the other food bowl during feeding but is easily directed back to his own bowl. Lucky responds quickly to verbal redirected with unwanted behaviors as he navigates his foster home and human expectations. He would benefit from an active family who wants to include him in adventures, a canine sibling or friends and a fenced yard is preferred but he is doing well on a leash. For all he's been through, Lucky is a happy, funny, and loving boy.

Adoption Fee: $175

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL.

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.
