Meet Ruby Leigh, we we affectionately refer to as Ruby Ruby Ru!  She is an amazing teenage puppy with so many positive attributes including her intelligence and eagerness to please her people.  Ruby was found as a stray in rural MO weighing only 20 lbs.  She was skin and bones.  Over the past few weeks we have helped Ruby return to her ideal weight and we've been working diligently on continuing her training and teaching her house manners.  Ruby knows how to sit, she is working on the commands Off, Wait, and Leave It.  Ruby came to us already walking beautifully on leash and understanding the concept of going Potty outside.  We are working on reinforcing that she should ONLY potty outside.  She has us trained pretty well to go out regularly. ;)  Ruby is also working on crate training.  We've developed a pretty consistent routine with her and she is responding very well.

Ruby is a total lovebug! She loves everyone and everything, including other dogs of all sizes, cats, kids and all people!  She greets people happily and is so excited at any opportunity to snuggle or play.

As great as Ruby is, she is still a puppy and has some puppy energy.  It generally comes in 1 - 2 hour spurts.  We have been able to help her exert that puppy energy with leashed walks and taking her to the dog park.  

She also LOVES her treats, puzzle toys and soft toys.  Bones are a big bonus for Ruby, though never rawhide.

What is Ruby looking for in her ideal home? Love, affection, consistency with training and she would absolutely love to have a doggie friend who enjoys playing.  She gets along with all dogs, but her foster canine siblings are not interested in playing with her and she just doesn't understand why.

Adoption Fee: $175

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL.

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.
