Lexi is a 5-year-old, playful, comical little girl who will do just about anything for your attention. Her tail wags constantly and she is very happy. She leaves all the "watch-dogging" to her sister Lady. Their previous owner thought she was doing the right thing by leaving her and her sister in a crate outside our office door with a note that they could no longer care for them.
Upon tracking the owner down from the dogs' microchips, we were able to educate the owner on abandonment laws and in exchange we learned that their lives have been filled with much adventure, including surviving hurricane Katrina.
Lexi is trained to a potty pad, but prefers to go outside for her "business," and will hold it until she is able to get outside. In her foster home, Lexi gets along well with other small dogs, but seems to be untrusting of larger dogs and visitors. Lexi will probably do best in a home without children and would prefer to find a home that can care for both her and her sister Lady since they have been together all their lives.
