Look into this sweet boys eyes and tell me he doesn't make you wanna take him home! Pete is a very energetic and outgoing boy looking for his new forever home that will be filled with love. He's almost a year old and still intact. Pete does not have a current rabies vaccine but has been given his canine distemper and bordetella vaccinations along with a dewormer.
You see, Pete had a rough start before he made it to the shelter. He was reported running loose by a couple of different citizens who were concerned with his health. He was missing all of his fur and had a large wound on the back of his neck from scratching it so much. He was rather thin and his skin was very pink and irritated. Once he was picked up, he was taken to the vet immediately. The vet placed him on a couple of antibiotics to clear up his skin, they certainly did the trick! Here he is a month later, his skin is healing nicely, he's gaining weight and his fur is starting to grow back! He's beginning to look SO good!
Pete has not been tested with other dogs or cats yet and has not been around children but this information can be provided upon request. Pete is very energetic, an active family would suit him well. He's still a pup so he will need a lot of attention and would definitely benefit from obedience classes, he's still learning his basic manners. He LOVES his treats and will play with toys, if he has an audience. It's quite entertaining!
**Please keep in mind, Pete is considered to be a pit bull breed. Please check your local legislation for possible breed restrictions before considering adoption. The mission of the Liberty Animal Shelter is to find loving, permanent homes for our pets. If you live in a breed-restricted area, you can check with your city's animal control or any vet in your city for a breed evaluation before adopting
Pete will have an adoption fee of $80 with an approved adoption application. This fee will cover the cost of his neuter, canine distemper and bordetella vaccinations and a simple dewormer. This fee does NOT cover the cost of his rabies vaccine or heartworm test. These additional fees are paid by the adopter, directly to the vet clinic at time of pick up.
