Meet Ellis! She's a beautiful, affectionate young adult waiting for her family. A kind woman kept her eye on Ellis and brought her and her kittens inside to safety early this spring. She's sweet, soft as can be, and loves to be petted. She hasn't been around young kids and startles easily (living outside can do that to you!) but she also trusts quickly and loves people, so Ellis would probably be just fine with kids older than toddlers.
Ellis has feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). FIV cannot be transmitted to people or dogs, and is rarely transmitted between housecats. FIV is most often transmitted through deep bite wounds and between unneutered males defending their territory. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy, happy lives. Health precautions for FIV+ cats includes ensuring that they receive annual vaccinations, keeping them indoors, providing a low-stress environment, and feeding high-quality food.
Adoption Fee: $65
TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, FIV/FeLV Combo test, and deworming. A two-week trial is included as part of the adoption.
Because we do not know the background of many of our cats, we cannot guarantee exact age or breed.
Adoption centers may not have a volunteer present to open the cat enclosures, and we have foster homes located throughout the KC metro area. Please fill out an application if you'd like to meet this cat.
Interested in this pet? Please fill out a non-binding application. Our goal is to find life-long matches between animals and families, and the application provides us with a lot of information to help us help you find that match!
