Meet Smokey! Smokey is a very unique looking, sweet, loving, and energetic guy who is approximately 6 months of age and in need of a new forever home! He is very playful and full of life, his personality definitely shows he's a puppy. Smokey was a surrender to our shelter after his owner's landlord found out about him and did not want him to stay. Smokey has been given his canine distemper and bordetella vaccinations along with a dewormer and flea and tick medication. He does NOT have a current rabies vaccine. We were told Smokey does well with children of all age but it is not known how he does with cats. As far as dogs go, he's a little submissive; he was tested with another dog about his size and same energy level, he didn't mind him but his lack of confidence caused him to be submissive to the other dog when the dog would run up to him or jump around him trying to get him to play. Due to Smokey's energy level, he would do best with someone who understands the demands of owning a puppy and how much care and attention is needed to properly care for and train him. Smokey does do well house training, he has only had a couple of accidents since joining us at the shelter.
Smokey will have an adoption fee of $80 with an approved adoption application. This fee covers the cost of his neuter, distemper and bordetella vaccinations given here at the shelter along with the dewormer and flea and tick treatment. The adoption fee does NOT cover the cost of rabies vaccine or heartworm test, if one is required. These additional fees are paid by the adopter directly to the vet clinic at time of pick up.
