Meet  Blitz ...he's a teenager with the heart of puppy!

Blitz  was a little scrappy looking puppy standing in the middle of the street eating roadkill when I was stopped at an intersection in downtown KCK.  He was just trying to fill his little belly when I spotted him. After a little time following him through an alley and catching up to him I asked around if anyone knew who this sweet little guy belonged to when I was told by a man that had been watching me follow him around to please just take him as he just ran around in the street and didn't belong to anyone. So I sat on the concrete and started baby talking to him and he came right over and rolled onto his back for me. I pet his belly and he rolled back over and gave me a big lick hello. I reached over and picked him up and off we went!

He spent the entire car drive licking my face and showering me with kisses as he tried to crawl onto my lap. When we arrived he hopped right out of the car and proceeded to sniff the entire garage and was eating all of the stray pieces of kibble on the floor from the bags of food I had for outreach dogs. There happened to be a bag on the floor which he pawed and ripped with his teeth to get into. I let him eat until his heart was content and then he was introduced to the back yard which he immediately loved. He ran laps inside the spacious and privately fenced yard for over two hours that first night! After trading him a treat to come inside he stayed right near my legs and would cower at the slightest hand movement. I fed him dinner and set up his kennel downstairs and I felt bad for him so I just left him loose...not the best idea as he is a very busy boy and had everything on the floor by morning! He adapted to half of the basement closed off by an xpen marvelously and didn't seemed in the least bit phased by having a boundary set.

He met his foster brother for the first time way too soon and he was overprotective of his food so I let him be for a couple of days and fed him until he left food in his bowl and tried the intro again and now they are the best of friends.  Blitz  LOVES to wrestle and is just an all around rambunctious little boy. He needs a family that will shower him with attention as he loves to cuddle. He has energy that seems limitless and will need his new family to have time to go on long walks/runs daily and most importantly  Blitz  needs to have a big brother or sister that loves to play as much as he does. He gets into things when left unattended but if he has a buddy he's way too interested in playing than getting into the laundry.

He is extremely food motivated and learned to sit in the first couple of days. He eats a high quality food with tripe and pumpkin mixed in to
help his tummy that was upset for the first week and after eating a normal diet. He has plenty of  antlers and horns (courtesy of Brookside Barkery & K-9 Closet) as his daily stimulation while I'm at work. His potty training is coming along well but he is paper trainer so if you leave newspaper down for him he will use it if he needs to. His hours of being alone range from 4-9 and with a consistent schedule he goes days without any accidents.

Blitz  recently spent a fun filled week at A Dogs Fun Playce in doggie day care while I had a business trip and his daily progress reports consisted of him basically being the class clown and making tons of friends. It will be important to nurture his dog socialization as he gets older as his introduction to most dogs could use a little polishing. He becomes so excited and vocal that to some could be interrupted as him being dog aggressive which he certainly is not!

While  Blitz  has been introduced to children 6 and older and did great I would encourage his adopters to have children that are bit older as he loves to play and a little toddler could be inadvertently knocked over while he is playing.

Blitz  is a happy and care free spirited overgrown puppy who is always smiling. His big ears and beautiful eyes will have your heart melting. He is all ready to meet you and will have plenty of kisses to go around!
