Huckleberry is one lucky little guy! He was found running across a very busy highway during rush hour traffic. He was so thankful to be found by a rescuer and some tasty cheeseburgers that he immediately shared loads of kisses with his new friends!
Mr. Huckleberry is now living at a local boarding facility, but he previously lived in a foster home with 3 older children and 2 larger resident dogs. He has been exposed to VERY large dogs and smaller dogs. While in a foster home, he learned a lot about being a family dog, including boundaries and manners. He quickly learned sit, off, kennel up, load up (to get in the car, which he was a little scared of at first), down, and is now house broken. He is very treat motivated, so training is pretty easy!
Huckleberry may be full grown, but he still thinks like a puppy. He loves to run and wrestle and he LOVES toys! Huck would benefit from obedience classes. Learning commands and even tricks actually helps him learn his place and gives him a job or purpose. Huck would also benefit from a fenced back yard with an active family.
Not every dog appreciates Huckleberry's spirited play style and the constant need to wrestle and play, so the ideal home for Huck would be one with no other dogs or one with another high-energy, confident dog.
All in all Huckleberry is a sweet and loving dog who is going to make his new family very happy. He just wants to be loved on (did I mention how much this boy loves a good belly rub?) and pampered with all kinds of hugs and toys!
If you think Huckleberry would be a great addition to your family and you are ready for a sweet and energetic young man please don't hesitate -- Apply today!
